Our flower shop is open year round to serve all of your floral needs. No matter the occasion, we have you covered!
Painted Gardens opened in the Fall of 2022. After many years of planning, saving, trial and error, and definitely a little bit of luck; we have found our home here at Little Ledge.
About Us
Shannon, who is often hidden behind a big bouquet of flowers, is the owner and head designer of PG. As a first generation farmer who has worked in agriculture since the age of 16, she has a deep love and respect for all types of farming. Although her background is as a mixed media artist, Shannon has always had a job in the horticulture industry and her experience as a grower is extensive.
After caring for, and losing her Aunt Tracy to cancer in 2020. Life changed forever. While trying to return to "normal", she fell into a job at a local florist shop. The job, as well as the inspirational women around her, ignited a passion within she didn't know existed. The memories and connections made will last a lifetime.
A new chapter unfolded into what is now known as Painted Gardens. Shannon has expanded her education and craft to have a distinct, unique and eclectic style. She is formally trained in fresh and dried floral design. Her favorite thing about floristry is that its constantly in a state of evolution, growth, and inspiration. The sweet smelling flowers don't hurt either!
Painted Gardens is a proud supporter and advocate of the local flower movement. Located on Little Ledge Farm, we are able to offer our customers countless fresh stems grown and harvested onsite. Farming flowers will always be the foundation that we continue to build upon.
Justin, Shannon's husband, is the one man band behind Little Ledge Farm. He single handedly built the main growing field our first year with nothing more than a wheelbarrow and shovel. Since then multiple fields of crops have been added. His hard, tedious work now allows us to be farming almost 2 acres of flowers. Incase that was not enough, he also renovated a 40 year old outbuilding into our current flower shop, built a greenhouse, AND fenced all of our gardens to keep our crops safe. He is a first generation farmer and force to be reckoned with! We would not be here without him!
When Justin is not planting, harvesting, delivering flowers, or fixing something; you can find him hanging out with our dog Lazslo and researching new plant varieties! Occasionally he may even be in the flower shop making a bouquet or two!
With our combined love for animals, nature, and art we have dedicated our life to building this farm and providing quality, pesticide free flowers. We strive to create stunning, artistically designed arrangements and gifts for everyone to enjoy.
